Why Light Impacts More Than Just Vision

Eighty percent of learning occurs by way of the eyes. When light enters the eye, besides going to the visual centers, it goes to the pineal and hypothalamus glands in the brain. These are the brain's master regulators, collectors and senders of information for the body. PhototherapyBy directing specific colored light through the eyes, we can augment the functions of the nervous and endocrine systems and help put the body in balance. The light gently expands the constricted visual fields and increases the amount of electrical current in the brain. When more light reaches the brain, we see improvements not only in visual skills and peripheral vision, but also in memory, speech, mental association, hand-eye coordination and the chemical processes of the brain.

Specialized Programming For Visual Conditions

Phototherapy can be very beneficial for certain visual conditions such as strabismus (crossed-eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), double vision and blurred vision. Our highly specialized light instrument can be programmed to address each of these particular conditions. Visual impairments can affect academic ability. When visual function is restored, we often see corresponding improvements in academic achievement.

Our Light Instrument

Our light instrument delivers programmed, colored light that encompasses the visual spectrum. These different frequencies of light interact with the endocrine system to elicit either stimulation or inhibition of hormone production.
