The founders of The Sensory Center™, Dan and Jennifer Hoffiz, are committed to helping individuals by promoting sensory integration for the brain. As the parents of an autistic boy and a learning-impaired girl, they are intimately acquainted with the challenges faced by people who suffer from
sensory processing disorders. They also have witnessed firsthand the gratifying benefits that this program can provide and are dedicated to providing others with solutions that will enable them to live fuller lives.
Both Dan and Jennifer are originally from Michigan. Jennifer holds an undergraduate degree in speech communications from Albion College and has a professional background in the health care industry. Dan is a graduate of the University of Michigan and holds a juris doctor degree from Arizona State University, College of Law. Both are Certified Auditory Trainers, with certifications from the Georgiana Institute, and members of the Occupational Therapy Association of California. In addition, Dan is a member of the College of Syntonic Optometry and a member of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. Their son’s story is published in the book Treating Autism: Parent Stories of Hope and Success, edited by Stephen M. Edelson, Ph.D. and Bernard Rimland, Ph.D.
Dan and Jennifer founded tthe company over 4 years ago. In October of 2008, Jennifer started a nonprofit which handles all the services of the company and dedicates her time to children who can not afford the program. The nonprofit, Sensory Research Center, also focuses its efforts in researching the effectiveness of the Individualized Sensory Program for the treatment of autism, as well as, promoting the awareness of sensory integration for the brain.
